Couples - A work in progress.
The eventual end of the work is to rewrite and translocate John Updike's novel Couples, shifting the action from New England in the 60s to contemporary London.
The images above show a redesigned dust jacket for the book, displayed on copies of the first American & English editions published in 1968. The jacket uses a reversed image of William Blake's watercolour Adam and Eve Sleeping, along with other elements taken from the designs of the original dust jackets. The typefaces and logo are derived from the cover design of the first French translation of Couples published by Gallimard.
